Supporting High-Resolution Site Data
Upfront Remedial Design Characterization (RDC) work is critical to confirming or refining the Conceptual Site Model (CSM). The Project Support Laboratory enables AST to:
- Validate or update the CSM with high-resolution analytical data
- Design precise, site-specific injection strategies
- Set accurate expectations for results and remediation timelines
- Monitor large-scale remediation projects in real time, correcting distribution gaps before field work concludes
Common Analyses Performed
The laboratory routinely conducts:
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) + Total Volatile Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TVPH) gasoline range organics (GRO) via Method 8260B
- Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons – Diesel Range Organics (TPH-DRO) via Method 8015
- Anions via Method 300.1 Ion Chromatography
- Dissolved Gases via Method RSK 175
These results directly inform injection designs and post-injection performance monitoring.
Trusted, Practical Data
While the Project Support Laboratory is not a certified environmental laboratory and compliance samples should be sent to certified facilities, its data quality has been widely accepted by regulatory bodies—including most U.S. states and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers—for use in remediation design and monitoring.
